Burberry Prorsum SS13

19 Sep

When anybody asks me who my favourite designers are, Burberry always features. In my opinion, Christopher Bailey has single-handedly changed what it is to be a British designer on a huge scale. He’s transformed it into the 98th most valuable brand in the world (according to Business Weekly) and into a brand capable of creating £3501.3 million in revenue for 2011. With models and celebrities alike front their campaigns, when LFW comes around, Burberry is the headliner. So no pressure then…

Bailey delivered yet again with a show that was full of both gorgeous (and wearable) coats and feminine designs. My favourites from the show (which were incredibly hard to choose!) are below.

Firstly, there was this coat. With the shine that automatically adds glamour to any piece, the structured shoulders and the perfect neutral colouring, this coat is one of few things on the LFW catwalks that will give almost anyone the perfect silhouette. Gorgeous.

Secondly, there was this ensemble. Colours I would never usually put together but that actually work amazingly together! Again, the outfit creates the perfect silhouette whilst also giving the wearer a big old burst of berry coloured goodness.

Thirdly, this leafy green dress that wouldn’t look at all out of place in the wardrobe of Samantha Cameron or Kate Middleton. A demure affair, it adds that kind of edge to a sophisticated outfit through the gorgeous (and very flattering on most skin tones) green colour and the lace detailing.

And finally, what is quite possibly my favourite piece so far of the entire season. Its everything I long for in an outfit; colour without being too colourful, a great shape (through the peplum/pencil combo) and tons of glamour. It’s divine and could I afford it, I’d be buying this and wearing it all day every day until Bailey sends out the next beautiful thing come February.

What was your favourite LFW moment?
